Looking for a free Cert 3 in individual support?

Here's The Truth.

You typed "free cert 3 individual support" into Google. So do thousands of Queenslanders every month.

Here's the truth: the course isn't free for everyone — but for most Queensland residents, the cost is just $15 per unit.

$225 total. For a nationally recognised qualification. In one of Australia's most in-demand industries.

If you live in Queensland, are 15 or older, and don't already hold a Certificate III or higher, you're very likely eligible for full government subsidy. We'll confirm in a 60-second phone call.

You don't need to be academic

You Don't Need To Be Academic.
You Need To Care.

Most of our students haven't studied in years. Some never finished school. Some are single mums squeezing classes between school pickups. Some are starting again at 45 after the job they thought they'd have forever disappeared.

They all had one thing in common when they walked in the door:

"I'm not sure I can do this."

Three months later, they were doing placement at a Brisbane aged care home, getting offered a paid role before the placement even finished, and texting their trainer to say "I can't believe this is actually happening."

This course isn't about being a top student. It's about turning up, doing the work, and being someone who cares.

If you can do that, you can do this.

Face-to-face students at our training centres consistently finish faster than people who study online. There's a reason: showing up makes a difference. You've got your trainer, your classmates, your routine. The course works because you keep showing up.

Online study — the honest qualifier

Want To Study Online?

We offer the Certificate III online, but only for students who genuinely have what it takes to finish.

Online study sounds easier — but in our experience, face-to-face students complete the course much faster and at much higher rates. That's why we don't enrol everyone who asks for online.

Online study at Sage is best suited to people who:

  • Are already working in aged care, disability, or community services with relevant experience
  • Have proof of face-to-face manual handling training (or are willing to attend ours)
  • Are confident with technology — laptop, video calls, online learning platforms
  • Are genuinely self-disciplined — not just hoping online will be easier
  • Have a clear, committed reason for choosing online over face-to-face
Our honest recommendation: If that sounds like you, our team will walk you through online enrolment. If it doesn't, we'll recommend face-to-face at the centre nearest you — and you'll likely finish faster, learn more, and walk into a paid role sooner.
No surprises

Real Pricing. No Surprises.

Non-Concessional Students
$20per unit if eligible
$300 total

Employed Queensland resident who meets funding eligibility criteria. Still a tiny fraction of what this qualification is worth.

Fee-For-Service
$200per unit
$3,000 total

Not eligible for government funding? You can still study with us. Payment plans available. After the 14-day cooling-off period, the full course fee is payable.

Most Queensland residents qualify for the $15 or $20 per unit rate. The Queensland Government Higher Level Skills program is designed to bring more qualified workers into aged care, disability, and community services — and they fund the bulk of the cost to make that happen. One 60-second call confirms what you qualify for.

Most students don't know this is an option

Want To Walk Out With Two Qualifications Instead Of One?

Most of our Cert III students don't realise this is even possible — but you can finish with a dual qualification that opens more doors, makes you more employable, and only takes three extra units.

Dual qualification options include skill sets in aged care, disability support, and home and community care — picked to match the kind of work you actually want to do at the end of the course.

Pricing depends on your eligibility and how the dual qualification is structured, but it's almost always significantly cheaper than studying a second qualification later.

Our trainers aren't career educators. They're registered nurses and aged care professionals who've spent years in the industry — and bring that real-world experience into every class. They'll tell you what aged care work actually looks like, prepare you for the parts other courses gloss over, and make sure you walk into placement ready.

We work with the biggest names in Queensland aged care: TriCare, Churches of Christ, BlueCare, Bolton Clarke, Regis, Jeta Gardens, R&Care, and dozens of other partner providers — which is how we can guarantee your placement, regardless of which centre you study at.

Common questions

Common Questions, Honest Answers

Are Cert 3 individual support courses really free?
Not for everyone, but for most eligible Queensland residents the cost is just $15 per unit — $225 total for the full Certificate III. The Queensland Government Higher Level Skills program funds the rest. We'll confirm your eligibility before you enrol.
How long does the course take?
Most face-to-face students finish in around 4–6 months. Some finish faster. You have up to 12 months to complete. Online students typically take longer — which is one reason we recommend face-to-face for most students.
I haven't studied in years. Will I be able to do this?
Yes. Most of our students haven't studied in years — some not since school. The course is designed for people who learn by doing, not by writing essays. Your trainers will walk you through every assessment. You won't be left to figure it out alone.
Where are your training centres?
We have five Queensland centres: Logan (4114), Ipswich (4305), Kippa-Ring (4021), Stafford (4053), and Nambour (4560). Day and night classes available at every centre.
Can I study online?
Online study is available, but only for students who already work in care and meet our online enrolment criteria. Online students must also complete face-to-face manual handling training. Talk to our team — if online suits you, we'll explain how it works. If not, we'll find the closest face-to-face centre.
What jobs can I get with this qualification?
Personal Care Worker, Aged Care Worker, Disability Support Worker, Home Care Assistant, Residential Care Worker, Community Support Worker, Respite Worker. Most of our graduates start as a paid carer at one of our partner providers within 4 weeks of finishing placement. Employment outcomes are not guaranteed.
What's vocational placement and how does it work?
Placement is 120 hours of supervised, hands-on work at an aged care or disability provider. We arrange it for you through our partner network — TriCare, BlueCare, Bolton Clarke, Churches of Christ, Regis, Jeta Gardens, and others. That's our placement guarantee.
What if I'm not eligible for government funding?
You can still study with us at the fee-for-service rate of $200 per unit ($3,000 total). We offer payment plans. After 14 days, the full course fee is payable whether you continue or not — so we make sure you're committed before that point.
I searched for CHC33015 — is that the same course?
Almost. CHC33015 has been superseded by CHC33021. CHC33015 can no longer be delivered. We deliver the current CHC33021, which is fully nationally recognised and qualifies you for the same career outcomes. Same destination, current vehicle.
Can I do a dual qualification?
Yes — most of our students don't realise this is an option, but you can walk out with two qualifications for just three additional units. Our recruitment officer will explain how it works and what it costs based on your situation.
What if I start and decide it's not for me?
You get a 14-day cooling-off period. If you're a funded student, no problem — you can walk away with no cost. If you're a fee-for-service student, after 14 days the full course fee is payable. So we make sure you're sure before that point.
How do I get started?
